Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park

The Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park preserves the route of the C&O canal that ran from Cumberland, MD to the Port of Georgetown in Washington, DC. Hundreds of the original canal structures, including locks, lockhouses and aqueducts are preserved along the 184.5 miles of the canal’s route that make up the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park.
