Grand Canyon National Park

Grand Canyon National Park surrounds the Grand Canyon in northwestern Arizona. The Grand Canyon was carved by the Colorado River and became one of our first National Parks in February 1919. While the Grand Canyon is neither the world's deepest or largest canyon, the Grand Canyon is the best known. Grand Canyon National Park gives visitors easy access to both the North and South Rims of the Grand Canyon. Other areas of Grand Canyon National Park are accessible only by mule or backpacking.
